10 Reasons to avoid Geek Squad

Recently, there have been a lot of negative articles written about Geek Squad. Some people say that they have had terrible experiences with Geek Squad, while others claim that the service is great. Regardless of which side you fall on, below is a list of ten reasons why you should avoid doing business with Geek Squad and buying your products through them instead.

Reason #1 – The service often costs more than the product you’re purchasing! Many times, the Geek Squad agent will try to sell expensive upgrades and add-ons to your products that you don’t need. If you’re not careful, you’ll end up paying more money to Geek Squad than you would have if you had just purchased the product directly from Best Buy.

Reason #2 – The Geek Squad agents aren’t trained properly. They don’t always have the proper tools to fix your computer and they may even break it in the process. If you have a problem with your product after it has been repaired by Geek Squad, you’ll be out of luck and will probably end up spending even more money getting it fixed by another technician.

Reason #3 – They have hidden fees. Sometimes Geek Squad will charge you extra fees if you send in your computer for repair on a weekend or during off-peak hours. They also sometimes charge a “rush fee” for minor repairs or upgrades that aren’t urgent.

Reason #4 – They don’t offer the same value as other tech shops. For example, some repair shops will offer to repair your computer for free if they can’t fix it within a reasonable time frame. Other repair shops will give you a free diagnostic run before they make any repairs so you’ll know exactly what’s wrong with your computer and how much it will cost to fix it. When you go to Geek Squad, you won’t get any of these benefits because they will try to charge you for every little problem they find with your computer.

Reason #5 – You won’t always get the same technicians every time you visit.

You might find yourself being sent to a different Geek Squad agent every time you bring your computer in for repairs. And most of these agents won’t know much about computers or how to fix them properly. Most of them have only been trained to repair iPhones, not desktop computers, so they’ll often make things worse before they get better. .

Reason #6 -Bottom line: If you’re looking for reliable computer repair services at an affordable price, I’d recommend visiting a local shop instead of doing business with Geek Squad.

Reason #7 -When you use Geek Squad to buy a new computer or iPhone, you’ll end up paying a lot more money for a lot less service than you would by buying directly from the manufacturer or a third-party retailer like Amazon or Target. You should also avoid taking your computer to Geek Squad for repairs whenever possible. They simply can’t provide the quality of service you’d get from a repair shop that specializes in desktops and smartphones.

Reason #8In the long run, you’ll end up paying more money to Geek Squad for lower-quality service and you’ll end up wasting a lot of time waiting in line to have your electronics fixed by incompetent technicians who’ll only make things more complicated rather than easier.

Reason #9 – Instead of going to Geek Squad for repairs, you should do some research to find a reputable local computer repair shop in your area where you can get quality service at an affordable price.
